Fire, To be alive it must consume, For its rise it must doom. Beauty in its beast, On my passion it’s come to feast, This blaze is now a sun, I have become undone. I shut my eyes, I’m hypnotized. So hot a flame, My heart it claims. I look around, And no light is found. Left but a memory, But will it remember me? The flame may have gone out, Its existence, I doubt. But the log still remembers, And the smoke still lingers.
