Trees take on an artistic swagger
Be drawn, photographed, painted:
A few scant leaflets flutter,
The banners of a vanquished summer
There is no sky to speak of;
Buildings loom - take up the capacious spaces
Reserved for it. And the trees,
The trees add no particular mood or tone:
Beggars as they are for light,
Reaching up for what cannot be grasped.
Life's like that: a series of wished, for hoped, for longed for, dreamed of
Instants - most unrealized -
But occasionally one - just one
Will momently capture the sun.
