The King of the Jungle gets stripped apart, analyzed, reconstructed, and reimagined in this introspective and creatively themed collection of poetry. And the best part of all? This new view is one that everyone can relate to. Dead Lions Don’t Roar clears a new path through life’s unknown and yet all too familiar hardships and grace. And Author Tolu' A. Akinyemi will certainly please inquisitive readers with his thoughtful, no-remorse bold honesty. Moreover, Akinyemi’s will surely capture and charm readers who seek substance that breaks through poetry’s confining template.

Dead Lions Don’t Roar focuses on the Dead (the darkness), the Lions (the strength), the Don’ts (the negatives), and the Roars (the fierceness) of human life. Encompassing various topics from complex relationships, to current events, Tolu' A. Akinyemi is a candid person and soul with his own views of what it means to truly live and find your own way. Each poem magnifies the cracks and corners of existence, which makes it not only relatable to many, but a necessary read to all.

The Author commendably paints a picture of his own experiences in love and relationships in the featured poem, "I wrote," where he so cleverly describes the everlasting condition of a broken heart saying;

"I wrote to her,

Why I am smitten in love,

She’s been bitten before,

It’s written over her,”

One of our absolute favorites from this collection is the poem which reminds us of how fragile yet destructive our human nature is in a poem called “If men were God – 2” where he makes this undeniably powerful point:

"The World would forever be in

Chaos.

Blood shedding in bucket loads to

atone for our sins…”

“There would be no rags to riches

Story

All we would murmur is “My

Destiny.””

We value books such as this which grace our eyes with a velvet layer of truth, and can only present Author Tolu' A. Akinyemi’s, Dead Lions Don't Roar, with a 5-star rating, which doesn’t graze the worth of this aspiring poetry collection! We must also admit that after reading the last page of this book, we were to say the least,

"Blown away like a candle in the

wind”.
