As I waited
I was in an unusual place,
There I was unrecognizable,
Unchanged,
Sadden.
I moved on but long for you to acknowledge me.
You walked by again and again,
As if I blended in with my environment,
was invisible.
I wasn't who you wanted me to be.
You walk by,
Didn't acknowledge my love, care,
That I was there for you.
You walked by as if I wasn't.

Well written Ruth!..indeed sad..that you were waiting to be acknowledged, but alas it did not happen.
Sadness is inevitable in this situation and the theme, "you walked by," intensifies the thought of such blatant rejection, which can be, indeed, difficult to bear. The character's shock and confusion to this adds an even more emotional aspect to the situation, leaving the heart sore numb. Real and personal!
