Ice
Melt this ice from around my heart,
Take these chains, rip them apart.
Dry these tears that freeze within
Make me feel whole again.
Make my smile, reach my eyes,
Show me, that I am still alive,
Love from me, you can entice,
If you chip away, this block of ice.
I have love deep down inside,
Behind this frozen ice, it hides.
I want your sunshine, that can hold it at bay,
Show me your love, that can melt it away,
Take me in your arms, it will be all right,
The ice will melt, if you hold me tight.
Only you, can set my soul aflame,
and melt the ice, that remains.

Ice cold diamonds
reflected images bright
mirrored distortion
slowing melting in the light
For so long my heart was as cold as ice
But you lied and said it’d be alright
So I melted from the touch of your words
And you left me there, a puddle of water
And now I wait for the wintered nights
So My heart can go back to being as cold as ice
Four loves I've had and people talk.
So what! I block them out
like earplugs, like chunks of icebergs
falling off into the ocean, drifting
away melting as they go
until I forget that they were
and all that talk - about
as important as the leftover
ice in my glass.
