That Word
Oh damn, I said as I was writing, the wording were flowing from my mind the story was coming into line
I was so excited, my story, the one that’s been in my mind, was now
Beginning to unwind in my writing
But now I have a problem, a word I know, suddenly I can’t spell
What frustration, no matter what I wrote it was not right, I know this word, what, I’m I losing my mind
Is senility setting in?
Oh finally I gave in, to the bookshelf I went, where my dictionary?
Here my copy of Jane Austen next to oh Mark Twain
There it is, my Webster dictionary
So now at last let me look up that word that is tormenting me so
Thus, I threw open the dictionary, to look for that word
Let see section D, now how do I spell that word
Where oh where, is that word DICTIONARY

A Marked-up Bible
A woman with pen in hand reads her Bible
The page is open to the book of Psalms.
There are her markings all over the page.
The author, King David lived in a different time.
A simple, harsh life
where people worked hard to survive.
She reads Psalm 22
A hymn of Thanksgiving.
As she reads she picks up her pen.
Curious.
Her thoughts.
Wisdom of bygone days
still read and pondered today.

A Well Worn bible
Many pen marks pages worn
A bible well read, a Christian reborn.
Verse by verse the pages breathe her life,
Washing away her anger, stress, and strife.
She can feel the words as they heal her heart,
Steady the flow as her tears start.
They are not tears of sadness, nor of pain,
But tears of happiness, and joy, falling like rain.
