Burn it all down, bring an end to this pain the thoughts that live in the deep parts of the brain too much to take, too hard to turn from old recollections so let those memories burn, all those past reflections

Watch as the blaze takes hold, engulfs, tears through old tears evaporating, they drift away as do the fears still too hard to let go of you so burn away those pictures I no longer want to view

The burning embers of memories, exposing as they go floating by twinkling in the dark night, scars of stars exploding in the sky let the past become ash in the cool air burn away the reminders of the days when I believed you could care

So light a match to the past, watch as the flames leap away as they clear the surrounding fog, get stronger every day the memories fade, the pain of the past denied the smoke eases, the fire burnt out, a new fire burns inside
