If Love is a Rose. Then Death is a Morning Glory...
I hate that "Forever" expression.
I always thought love was forever, as was a loved-one.
Then the realities and brutalites of life taught me differnt.
I realized that a "Love Loss' was like a flower of sorts.
The love that we shared when they were with us, made our pedals bright, as if we opened to the morning sun and basked in it's love-light.
But when that sun sets, and our love-light is gone, we close those pedals and shut ourselves out from the world, and all that surrounds us, and live in darkness, an empty dawn.
Until finaly, one day, you realize you are needed, and wanted by the many loved ones that remain, and surround you as a clinging vine supports, and never lets go.
Memories of the ones lost, flood in, bad and good, they sustain you, and can even bring in a bit of happiness.
A small ray of light sneaks in, filling the emptiness, until finaly that sun rises, the warmth overwhelms us, and we slowly begin to open. To once again bask in the love of those that surround and support us.
Never forgetting the ones we loved, and lost, but rather we remember.
And we cry, we smile, we laugh.
And then, we bloom.

@T.A. Dieringer This poem reminds us that with life comes death, with love comes pain, and with victories comes loss - in other words saying that the truth is we don't get one without the other (good, bad). And reality definitely has a way of awakening us all to this some way or another. Loss is one of the greatest happenings to do this. Grief tells us many days we can’t go on, but in your words;
“A small ray of light sneaks in, filling the emptiness, until finaly that sun rises, the warmth overwhelms us, and we slowly begin to open. To once again bask in the love of those that surround and support us.
Never forgetting the ones we loved, and lost, but rather we remember.
And we cry, we smile, we laugh.
And then, we bloom.”
