If walls has souls
Why do they get so cold
Why I have fallen for a girl
with a heart of marble stone
Looking from different angles
To see all sides of the story
I've foreseen my fall
Maktoob
I've walked the path
The path of devotion
Knowingly
That I would fail
I would fail you
I would fail us
Me against time
In an endless race
A hopeless case
I see your face
In every face that I meet
And I hated this
I've known the world
For what it really is
We build our victories
On our crushed dreams
On a ghostly realm
Of the ones who came before
And they've done
The same
A cathedral of bones
An altar of skulls
Void vows
And this emptiness
Nothingness
Idol of Christ
Gazing at me
Michael and Gabriel
Watching every step
To the confession room
In my pilgrimage's cloak
Watching the clock
Tick tack tock
Waiting for a priest
To listen
I speak
Openly
Of my fears
Of my stillborn tears
All these years
Forsaken
In a monk's mold
Waiting
Waiting to be free
Of guilt
That I've lost
I fought
Till the last unspoken word
You refused to hear
To the final goodbye
To the fatal goodbye
And as we part ways
I've foreseen this
Moment of clarity
A vow of chastity
To myself
That I've broken
So many times
Every time I see your face
In every face
Frowning at me
A change of pace
I stand my ground
To lose this frown and go on in my life
I've taken care of the devil in me
Now
I feel free
Dark, liberating, and reads a lot like a wrap song. I loved it. The flow of the images is brilliant.
"A cathedral of bones
An altar of skulls
Void vows" - gave me shivers!
One of your best pieces.
Keep it up
yeah, oops, it's the path, i wrote this while being insomniac so i made few mistakes, thanks i gotta edit it if i can
There are a number of phrases I thought were really great in this...
"Me against time / In a endless race / A hopeless case"
"We build our victories / On our crushed dreams"
"To the final goodbye / To the fatal goodbye"
...but I've got to ask about one phrase:
"I've walked the bath / The bath of devotion"
Do you really mean "bath," or do you mean "path"? I was trying to make sense of that one.
But I really like the piece, very evocative.
