My Heartbeat
As long as I can hear my heartbeat I know I’m ok
He can break my shell of a body many times
But I am strong within my mind
My heartbeat gives me strength
As my body breaks my mind will stay strong
I won’t let him break me fully
For I know I am stronger than he thinks
I have become numb to the pain
My body will heal as long as my heart beats
The bones and skin will fix themselves
As long as I keep my mind and soul intact
I will survive while my heart beats
He will never have what he wants
He will never totally break me
For I am like the Phoenix
