I cry for the loss of such a young soul Joined the army straight out of school To rise through the ranks his one goal
Sent off to join a band of men Learn how to fight and defend His country and brothers on him can depend
Sent to war zones far and wide A gun on his back, another at his side Their countrys best, their parents pride
Laying low, waiting for a sign to open fire At night time they waited in the cold and the damp Not even a light from a small lamp
Then one fateful day over the back their attackers came Like hunters slaying their game, they came with their swords and their guns The average age just 21
All brothers now joined by the hardest band Slain where they lay, noone remained
A promising life cut too short They didn't have time to even abort For now their bodies remain abroad Their souls now remembered each and every year is the least we can afford.
