The earth burns, and the world cries,
So many chances. All of which passed us by.
Each day, tomorrow, tomorrow, but we continue to slip,
And still we fail to appreciate beauty, love, and friendship.
Tomorrow never comes, and no time today
We must hurry, faster still, before the hours get away.
Come, come quickly, see the clock upon the wall?
Half passed time, bringing the earth’s downfall.
Age catches us, the ticking of the clock continues,
Faces in the mirror, which face today do you choose?
Bright and happy, a winsome smile upon your face,
Or a dreaded downcast, frown out of place.
And the earth still burns, nature’s beauty marred by dust,
Shadows of distance, past ground in mistrust.
Peace? There is none. Rules now made by fear,
In an instant, time ages, but we no longer hear.
