The Princess knew
She would be Queen.
Only the Jester blustered in her way.
She played peacock to her crowd,
Mocked his followers long and loud
But forgot the first rule of the game:
When all is a joke
And truth’s but a yoke
Cattle-prodding the serfs is just insane.

A true tale in a round about way. Good one
Eddie, "Trumpit the News," excellent poem! You are a great narrator and your poetic tales are truly compelling and captivating.
