Symbols of days gone by
My childhood gone in an instant
The days when they were new
I was but a little pup still finding my way
It seems that my life has traveled
As fast as they once did on the highway
Now we both sit still and silent
Relics of a fast and furious time
Now they sit alone and rusted
The knowledge they could share
I too feel alone, my life rusted
Unused and broken
Tossed aside to return to the earth from which I've come

'Nostalgia' and 'childhood' always seem to go hand-in-hand. This is a really good poem, Anthony. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Thanks to the both of you
Memories. Sometimes they pull us back and we think what if. What if I still had that? What if I still did that? Some memories are awesome, but they are just that...memories. Good write. By the way, I love the picture.
Very good!
