Is it being displeased or pleased with the way you look Perhaps fancying a bit of a nip and tuck Is it taking time with your appearance everyday Does it show in the way you hold yourself upright, or is that you being uptight Is it in the way you talk to others or in the way you present yourself Is it hidden within you, left on the shelf Is it the way you smile at the camera, turning the spotlight on you Is it noticeable in all that you do Is vanity simply the art of taking care of the way you look, like designing the jacket of a good book Is it really bad to look in the mirror and like what you see or is this purely vanity?

You're just replacing something you always had since childhood, until the accident took it away from you. I wouldn't call that vanity...
Vanity is in my humble opinion the daily unreachable striving for personal perfection. You wishing to look good or better for your sons wedding is I think micro vanity but also both understandable and acceptable
I wrote this as I am currently undergoing tooth implant surgery having lost a tooth in the summer as a result of being run over by a motorbike, my son gets married at the end of march and I want the implant in time for the wedding, is this vanity?
