You told us the pain was too much to handle but what could We do but tell you to stay strong the pain won't last long; You'll be OK some day if you hold on. But It didn't go away and you got tired of us saying the same old things. You faked a smile for our sake like everything was Ok. You hid in the dark being careful not to bring attention to yourself. We thought you won your fight became strong Like we knew you could all along. Little did we know the demon remained lying in waiting till no one was expecting a thing. It wasn't till the day you could no longer hide... It all become too much with no strength left to fight. You made The Choice it would be better to leave this world behind then to Burden us with your pain once again. Little did you know the pain didn't leave with you it spread like a plague consuming all those left behind. We all now know how dark your world was We carry your pain with us And must fight every day to survive the demon called suicide!
We’ve entered a foggy time Where only the insane are truly free Politicians thrive With agendas where their brains should be. Where “dialogue” is shouted curses Wielded like dull-edged swords And our defense against this loud banality Our faces sunken into phones, terminally bored. We no longer slouch towards Bethlehem But think its existence is just fake news. The truth is no longer a solid thing But a clay molded with our views. I’ll not try to do what Didion did, I’ve neither the competence nor the need To walk around in different shoes In glasses smoked with weed. I’ll just erode in peace here dark While the world in every direction implodes to dust. The red of it not iron-based – Eternal quiet the only end to our distrust.
