The structure and narrative of this book are excellent. This is a very compelling read that grips you from the moment it begins; including the charming dedication line. This masterpiece of a novel is nearly impossible to put down and, in our opinion, can impressively appeal to many audiences; while doing so in a way that also does not cause the storyline to be deluded nor redundant. This book can be enjoyed by teens and adults, alike - including those into History, Mystery, Fantasy, Crime, and Spiritualism; all at once.
With clear, strong characters like Agatha and Dominic, to enigmatic characters such as Jayson and Dean, to curious characters like Diana and Nathan; readers will have a wealth of happenings to relate to or be entertained by. This book is undoubtedly an intellectual thriller that deserves to become an educational classic – with many ‘fresh’ takes and points from different sides of life.
Incredible descriptiveness is present and it paints a very vivid picture of each area, place, and person so that, despite the goings-on, readers are never confused. This is a high-stakes journey with compelling things to be learned and much gentle wisdom to be shared. There is so much that consistently shines through.
Knights, Demons, Pirates, and Witches; this book appears to draw strength from many fond and beloved tales at once. As such, it brings our lost childhoods to the forefront while standing in a place that is entirely it's own. It floats among many other ‘Greats’ such as Camelot, The House of Night and Narnia – Some of which are movies, and perhaps this book will be made into a movie, itself, someday. We would love to see it.
This is a book that will make its mark on you – please you, ease you, and leave you feeling like a better person, on some level. Thoroughly entertaining and thoroughly enjoyed, with no shortage of questions and an insatiable hunger for the next page! Non-readers, alike, may also be enticed. Nobody leaves disappointed!
For all of these aspects and more, we give this one 5 stars and we are eagerly awaiting many more! Edwin is a phenomenal author and it has been such a grand pleasure to read what is sure to be one of his best works. Edwin deserves many successes and we look forward to more.
