Funeral Flowers : An emblem of remembrance

Hashtags tell strangers how you feel
Without the solidity of all that's real.
It's writing emotions on a sea of sand
Hoping it's noticed before the next wind blows.
What is the answer? No one knows
But the first step might be to step inside.
Lonely, not Alone
tired
used to love being wired
quickly squirm away
beware promise you’ll pay
used to care used to share
isolation was rare now it‘s everywhere
what’s my problem
thought you made a list
painful now painless tomorrow
another twenty four riddled with sorrow
feeling sorry for myself, perhaps
once my head lifts show me the maps
life before finding a better way
Hope fills the spaces between each lobe
how did it happen, this fresh perspective
stopped the take and learned to give
that wasn’t all
on the ledge awaiting a breeze embracing the fall
physicians view enlightened by few
years of schooling lack of insight
psycho electro group circle square
holding hands spitting nickels
bootstraps but you already know
vodka beer gin whiskey or wine
nothing helped this fortress of ice
solitude was feeling pretty nice
once down crawling with mice
not until this after all lost
by choice at all cost
not with medicine, shock even below zero frost
realization occurred
someone saw me
even reached down
past my shirt through the air
locked onto my hair
never let go
not alone
lonely no more
isolation free no longer a mess
there it was, the answer appeared
telling me all, everything i feared
but i wasn’t speaking the voice wasn’t mine
it was...
them, they, million a billion no fee no fine
I‘m Not Alone, Neither Are You
We Fight Together

a smiling face hides so much
a pixelated circle cropped from a square
but once the sadness starts trending
that’s when people start to care
“for you” “trending” “news”
don’t forget the hashtags tacked on there
because that’s only when they’ll speak up
otherwise, they wouldn’t dare
hotlines and websites fill the timeline
promises of hope and prayer
but in their real life they’re none the wiser
to their loved one filled with despair
