A Ballerina frozen in time In an icy world the she stands on point The muse of the ancient sea, a mermaid goddess frozen in Ice Sits closely by, as the ballerina dances on the frozen land The muse her only source of inspiration, in the absence of the choreographer A sheet of ice, broken from its Antarctic shore, is the Ballerina frozen home A beautiful woman who dance all alone on this icy land On point she stands with her hands high, she arches back Like a statue on the sky line, she waits for her partner return Unlike the frozen tundra where she stands, her heart burns of passion For her partner she does yearn the love of dance will not be complete Until such time as he takes her in his arms and lifts her free of her Icy bond. The Wisdom of the Light Born that day was a baby girl The nurse place pink on her, to label her For she must comply with the masculine system Brainwash to believe women are inferior to men Chain to being weak Obeying the male, in servitude you must be But as she grew, it was clear, she was not like others girls A mind she possess, she demand equal access to all knowledge Those who control society as a whole were in shock How could insolent little bitch question the wisdom of man For God, he said, that man will reign over all earth and women were just to serve- It’s written in the book For her to say that she is equal to a man, that’s subversive talk my friend But she would not bend to their pressure she stood her ground even as the people but her down She felt hopeless and despair until God came to her one night, in a dream As she floated among the stars A bright sphere of light, appeared The orb was of a beautiful light, and as she moved in space among the multitude of stars She reached out to the orb Bring it close to her, she saw a face appear A beautiful woman looking back her She could feel the energy of the light shoot within her The knowledge she was seeking she how obtained Then she looked with eyes of Windom at the lady in the sphere You’re God, but how can that be the book says you’re a man The lady smile back at the child and said God is not a man nor is she a woman, what you see what you want to see For the soul within you is genderless! The Hand of Love A little hand, upon my hand So small is it A little soul, that loves me so Those memories of child now grown She used to run and play She takes my hand as we ran down the way That night, the dad and daughter dance She held my hand and made me dance She didn’t laugh as I look back now On how bad I dance She just took my hand and walked with me She smile and said not too bad to her dad Now she takes my hand, hers is strong and sure Not the little hand of yester year She holds my weak and trembling hand As I gazed with tired eyes Upon a strong self-assured woman My daughter dear I see in you a woman like your mother She be proud of you I only wish that she had lived through childbirth I did the best being both dad and mom But you’re the one who took my hand and lead the way Now you’re grown and have a family of your own My watch is done; it’s time that I move on For I see your mother standing near her smile is beaming I hear her saying my name softly As she reaches out for me My sweet daughter, hold my hand once more before I go Your love I carry with me wherever I may go But, remember this, my dear child I’ll always be near On a night like tonight, look to shadows of the moonlight As it filters into the room For here you’ll find me, my hand upon your hand As it was so long ago, I’ll be there for you Please hold my hand, and with one last kiss I’ll say goodbye! On Mountain Majesty On a granite slab of rock, jutting out into the air Here I stand, above the mountain Stone walls lying at my feet Where there once was a glacier, a sheet of ice Now a deep wide crevice, carved from ancient times Holds an Ice cold glacial lake A place where winter is a way of life, for the hardy habitants that live in this biosphere As I look out from my vantage point, the harsh wind hit my face But it does not matter, for I’m lost in trance A spiritual up lifting, I do raise my hands above my head in a tree pose that I got from my yoga class, my right leg bent as I stand in the wind One with the ancient rock, above the barren soil with patches of Ice that never fade One with the circle of life, that even in this wilderness finds a place Even though the environment is harsh, the beauty of this place lets you know the hands of God have touch this land in such a way No mortal could create the beauty that I see As I stand on a granite slab, one thought comes to me Whatever you do, don’t take these rocks for granite!
